BIO-ETHANOL
Bio-ethanol is agricultural anhydrous ethyl alcohol obtained from raw materials of plant origin. It is used in the petrochemical industry as an ecological bio-component of engine fuels and as an ingredient for the production of ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE).
Adding bio-ethanol to petrol significantly contributes to decreasing the contents of gases in exhaust fumes, which are responsible for greenhouse effect. The increasing use of renewable energy sources, to which bio-ethanol belongs, allows for reducing the usage of fossil fuels, whose resources are limited. Due to its properties bio-ethanol may become one of the most important energy raw materials in the future.
We started to gain our experience in the production of bio-ethanol already in 1950 when we initiated the system for spirit dehydration. The production of bio-ethanol started to develop dynamically in Poland in 1993.
For several years we have been the largest and the most modern producer of bio-ethanol in Poland. Our production capacity is over 170 million litres of bio-ethanol per year.
BIO-ESTERS
Methyl Esters of Higher Fatty Acids (BIODIESEL)
Methyl esters of fatty acids are the product of the ester exchange of vegetable oils and animal fats with methyl alcohol. Thanks to their physical and chemical properties they are a perfect alternative for diesel and can be used for powering cars with compression ignition engines (diesel) as pure fuel (Biodiesel – B100) or as a combustible mixture with B20 diesel.
It is worth mentioning that the use of esters as bio-fuels limits the emission of greenhouse gases.

Raw Glycerine
Raw glycerine is the main by-product of ester exchange reaction. It is now widely used in heat engineering (as fuel for boilers), fertilizer and feed industry. Currently we mainly process raw glycerine in order to obtain refined glycerine of pharmaceutical quality.

Refined (Pharmaceutical) Glycerine
Refined glycerine is the product of the processed raw glycerine. In Wratislavia-BIO Sp. z o.o. the raw glycerine, obtained mainly from the rape oil, which is not genetically modified, is used for the production of refined glycerine. Pharmaceutical glycerine is widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industry.
